Creekside Counseling, Inc. was established in 1990 with the idea of bringing quality drug and alcohol outpatient treatment services for adolescents to Salem. Since then, it has grown to provide services to individuals of all ages, as well as families, in many areas of addiction.

Our Story

Creekside Counseling Inc. was established in April of 1990 by its founder and Executive Director Michael L. Laharty M.S, M.A.C, Q.M.H.P. Creekside's design was based on 13 years of experience in mental health and chemical dependency treatment. This experience included County, State, Federal and private sectors, outpatient, intensive outpatient, residential and inpatient settings.

Creekside is located in South Salem on the banks of Clark Creek and is housed in one of the original homesteads in this area. Patients report enjoying the relaxed home like atmosphere and natural landscaping dominated by native plants. Our expansion in 1997 added an adjoining structure. The acquisition of an adjacent building (The Cottage) in 2001 was done with the history of the original property in mind.

Creekside's philosophy of treatment is focused on the patient's needs and outcome-driven standards. Creekside is a fully state-licensed facility and operates using criteria established by The American Society of Addiction Medicine (A.S.A.M.). Clinical services are provided by counselors who are certified by The Addiction Counselor Certification Board of Oregon (A.C.C.B.O.) for every level of care provided.
